Blood drive at Hunter exceeds expectations

Students skipped class for the benefit of mankind late last month to give blood at a two-day collection organized by Hunter's Blue and White Society in conjunction with the New York Blood Center. The blood drive took place on Hunter West's third floor, where each student is said to have saved three lives.

Hunter College Library to Undergo Makeover

Come next winter, Hunter College stu­dents can expect improved study spaces and decreased check out times at Hunter’s central library branch. The third floor of Hunter College’s Wexler Library will undergo a large-scale renovation starting this June. The renova­tion will continue into the summer, and is anticipated to be completed in January of 2012.

Hunter College Given Green Light to Reduce Space for Childcare

March 23, 2011

This past March 8, New York State Supreme Court Judge Emily Jane Goodman reluctantly announced that the long-disputed reduction of childcare space at Hunter College is not within the court’s legal power to overturn. Though Goodman dismissed the case on jurisdictional grounds, she criticized Hunter’s decision to reduce childcare space, calling it both “arbitrary” and “capricious.”
